Engine, Supporting In Installation Position

Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 29:10-222A/29 (quantity: 2)
Engine Support - Basic Set Square Pipe:T40091/1 (quantity: 2) and Engine Support - Joint Fixture:T40091/3 from the Engine Support - Basic Set:T40091
Engine Support - Movable Joint:T40093/3 (quantity: 2) from the Engine Support - Supplement Kit:T40091
Engine/Gearbox Support Shackle (2 pc.):10-222A/12

Support The Engine

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the right and left foam piece -arrows- for the plenum chamber cover.

-- Place the :10-222A/29 on both sides of the vehicle between the fender and the fender bolting plate underneath.

Installation Position:

The :10-222A is installed behind the gas-filled strut for the hood.
The Adapter "L" = -1- is installed on the "right" side of the vehicle.
The Adapter "R" (not illustrated here), is installed on the "left" side of the vehicle.
The arrow -2- always points in direction of travel.

-- Slide the two :T40091/3 onto the :10-222A .

-- Tighten the :10-222A on the :10-222A/29 .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the lock carrier retaining bracket on the left and right sides

-- Remove the lower mounts on the :10-222A/28 and replace with the :10-222A/28-2 .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for securing the engine support bridge on the lock carrier from the :10-222A/28-2 .

-- Tighten the :10-222A/28-2 using the bolt -1- on the lock carrier. Tightening specification: 8 Nm.

-- Install the :T40091/1 each with a corresponding spindle as shown.

-- Engage the Spindles in the lifting eyes of the engine. If necessary use the :10-222A/12 .

-- Tension the engine/transmission sub-assembly slightly with the Spindles.
