Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Breather Tube Tool: T10203 
• Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm: VAG1331 

-- Remove the shift unit. Refer to OVERVIEW - TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND GEARSHIFT MECHANISM .

Locking Elbow A, Removing from Gearshift Cover

-- Remove the outer part of the locking elbow.

-- Carefully pry out the locking elbow with a screwdriver.

Installation position:

The marking -arrow- faces toward upper section of the selector shaft.

-- Install the shift unit. Refer to OVERVIEW - TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND GEARSHIFT MECHANISM .
