Hydraulic Modulator

Modulator pressure control solenoids are mounted inside hydraulic modulator and are not individually serviceable. Entire modulator must be replaced if solenoids are defective.

  1. Turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position. Connect one lead of ohmmeter to terminal No. 32 of ECU connector. Test resistance between terminal No. 32 and terminals No. 2 (left front control solenoid), 18 (rear control solenoid) and 35 (right front control solenoid). Resistance readings should be .7-1.7 ohms.
  2. If readings are not within specification, unplug modulator connector and test resistance from hydraulic modulator pin No. 4 (ground) of modulator to pins No. 1, 5 and 3. If readings are now within specification, repair ECU wiring harness to modulator.
  3. If readings are still not within specification, replace hydraulic modulator.
