Preliminary Test Procedures

Ignition Secondary Checks and Coil Resistance Checks are basic system tests, required whenever ignition problems are suspected. See the TROUBLE SHOOTING - BASIC PROCEDURES article in the GENERAL TROUBLE SHOOTING section. Also check for hard codes which may be set in the computer. If any codes are set they must be checked and/or corrected prior to the following testing procedures.
