Checking transmission fluid temperature sensor

• Ignition off.
• Remedy control module and transmission connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .
• Reconnect control module and transmission connectors.
• Ignition on
• Read off oil temperature.

  Check that the temperature is reasonable.

  Compare with the transmission temperature.

  If the transmission temperature seems reasonable the cause of the fault was contact resistance or oxidation in the control module or transmission connector.

Was the transmission temperature reasonable? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Checking wiring and components
