System Operation Check: Notes

Turn ignition switch to ON position (engine not running). If no fault codes are present, SRS warning light will go out after 3 seconds. If SRS is malfunctioning, SRS fault code will be stored in control module memory during following conditions:
- SRS warning light does not glow.
- SRS warning light does not go out after 3 seconds.
- SRS warning light does not go out after engine is started.
- SRS warning light comes on while driving.
If SRS warning light indicates a malfunction, enter self-diagnostics and retrieve fault codes. See DIAGNOSTICS .
