Removal & Installation

  1. Remove engine covers and upper timing cover. See Fig 1.
    CAUTION: DO NOT allow debris or objects to fall into control valve opening.
  2. Disconnect solenoid electrical connector. Remove mounting bolts and lift control valve straight up off engine. See Fig 2. Cover opening immediately. Remove gasket material.
  3. Clean mating surfaces thoroughly and ensure no gasket material is stuck to surface. Install in reverse order using a NEW gasket. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
