Engine Compression

NOTE: Difference between cylinders must not exceed 25%.

Compression ratio is 9.0:1.

Check engine compression at normal operating temperature with all spark plugs removed. Compression should be 160-189 psi (1100-1300 kPa). Maximum compression difference between cylinders is 29 psi (200 kPa). For engine compression inspection procedure, see BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - S40 & V40 .
