Replacing A Component

Convertible Roof Module (CRM) has registered an internal malfunction.

If the fault is intermittent it means that it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can occur for a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.

NOTE:

Before continuing with fault-tracing, the following must be checked:

If diagnostic trouble code CRM-E010 is stored, this diagnostic trouble code can be fault-traced first.
Convertible Roof Module (CRM) must not be replaced, if the catches work or if the diagnostic trouble code is intermittent.

Check the catch motor's functions by activating the motor and reading out its position.

NOTE:

For the catch motor to be OK the read-out must show "locked" or "unlocked" after the activations.

Read off by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.

If the catches do not work during the check above and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is permanent, replace the Convertible Roof Module (CRM).

Remedy as necessary.
