Power Supply

The Brake control module (BCM) is supplied with 12 V via three fuses and is grounded at two ground terminals.

Checking the power supply

Check the power supply cables from the battery to Brake control module (BCM). Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage must be approximately battery voltage.

Ground terminal, Brake Control Module (BCM)

The ground input for the control module is connected to the body.

Checking the ground terminal

Check the ground cables between the Brake control module (BCM) and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the Integrated Brake control module (BCM) and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0.5 V.

Remedy as necessary.
