The base unit of the antenna module (ATM) (16/110) has the task of receiving and converting AM and FM signals. The antenna signals are converted to sound signals which are transmitted digitally to the audio control module (AUD) (16/105) via the MOST network.

The antenna module (ATM) (16/110) receives information from the infotainment module (ICM) (16/1) about which frequency / radio station and which waveband the listener wishes to listen to.

The antenna module (ATM) does not transmit sound signals to the audio module (AUD) if the radio station signal is not strong enough. The antenna module (ATM) is in "MUTE" mode when searching frequencies.

The antenna module (ATM) stores the most recently used frequency for a waveband. When changing from one frequency to another the control module will use the stored frequency.
