Tailgate System

The task of the Power Operated Tailgate Module (POT) is to check the tailgate's automatic opening and closing mechanism. To achieve this, it is included in a system together with the following components:

Risk of component damage Open, or close, the tailgate slowly if the battery is disconnected. The spindle motors can be damaged if these instructions are not followed. The entire movement must take longer than 5 seconds.

6	Switch closing tailgate	-	Button for closing the tailgate. Is located on the lower edge of the tailgate.
7	Cargo compartment lighting	-	-
8	Motor closing, tailgate	-	Pulls in the tailgate the last bit. Is located by the lock unit in the tailgate.
9	Lock bolt	Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8)	Lock bolt releases when the lid is to be opened. Locks the boot lid shut when the lid is closed.
10	Sensor 1 (inner lock position)	Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8)	Detects, together with Secondary signal (outer lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the outer lock position or open.
11	Sensor 2 (outer lock position)	Lock motor central locking system tailgate (6/8)	Detects, together with Primary signal (inner lock position) if the tailgate is fully closed, in the outer lock position or open.
In addition, the following two components are indirectly considered part of the system:
12	Inner, switch	Light switch module (LSM) (3/111)	Used for opening the tailgate. The switch is diagnosed by the Central electronic module (CEM). The switch must be held in for 500 milliseconds to activate opening.
13	Remote key	-	If the button with symbol for tailgate is pressed in for 500 milliseconds, the tailgate opens.
