The electric oil pump is installed on the front edge of the transmission. It is controlled via the electric oil pump module which is located under the right-hand headlight.

The function of the electric oil pump is to ensure the correct flow to the transmission while the automatic start/stop function is active and when the vehicle is run in electric mode.

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) controls the electric oil pump by sending a control signal to the electric oil pump module. The electric oil pump interprets the signal and deploys a PWM signal that drives the electric three-phase motor in the oil pump.

The electric oil pump module monitors the electric oil pump and can detect if a fault occurs. The electric oil pump module continually sends a status signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
