Lateral Accelerometer, Signal

The value indicates the lateral accelerometer signal, i.e. the lateral incline of the car. The signal from the lateral accelerometer, which is integrated in the Body Sensor Cluster Stability Sensor (BSC), transmits information to the Brake Control Module (BCM) about the lateral acceleration of the car. Turning left produces a body roll to the right, giving a positive value. Turning right produces a body roll to the left, giving a negative value.

Measurement range: -20 - +20 m/s2

HINT: The value can be influenced by changing the sideways incline of the car, for example by raising the right or left-hand side of the car.

NOTE:

S60 (11-), V60 and XC60 2013- are not equipped with Body Sensor Cluster Stability Sensor (BSC) but instead have an inertial measurement unit (IMU) installed on the circuit board on the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).
