Steering Wheel Module (SWM) [2017-2022]: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE:
Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.
Set the vehicle to Inactive mode, described in user mode. Refer to: [USAGE MODE]
Remove the following items:
- steering wheel. Refer to: [STEERING WHEEL]
- Panel steering column. Refer to: [PANEL STEERING COLUMN]
Special Tool: 981 4089 Anti-static strap
Ground connection
NOTE:
The graphic shows the back of the component before removal.
Remove the cable harness clips.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the screws.
Torque: Steering wheel module, to Steering column, 2.8Nm
CAUTION:
Observe caution when carrying out this step.
- Tilt the component somewhat.
- Release the lock.
- Remove the marked part.
