Intermittent Defects
Electrical problems often result from failures of wire connections or the wires themselves, but sometimes can be caused by failure of a relay or magnetic coil. Always check the circuit thoroughly if you suspect there is any fault.
Check the mated connectors
- A discolored contact pin and socket may affect the connection.
- Contact pin or socket may be in poor shape or damaged due to corrosion or a short.
- The adapter may be damaged or has poor contact due to the intrusion of water, oil, grease or other dirt.
- Ensure wires are completely insulated. If any exposed section of a wire contacts the vehicle body or any other conductors, a short circuit will result.
- Ensure all wires are in good conditions and function properly.
- If a wire consists of several cords, check its resistance. If abnormal, repair or replace them immediately.
Check the contact between the terminals (or connector) and wires.
Check every connector for poor contact by shaking wires slightly. If there is any abnormality, repair or replace them as necessary ?
