Oil Pump: Installation
- Install the oil pump (A). See Fig 1 and use following steps;
- Apply liquid gasket (08718-0001 or 08718-0003) evenly to the block mating surface of the oil pump and to the inner threads of the bolt holes.
- Grease the lip of the oil seal and apply oil to the new "O" rings (B).
- Install the dowel pins (C), then align the inner rotor with the crankshaft and install the oil pump.
- Clean the excess grease off the crankshaft, and check the seal for distortion.
NOTE: DO NOT install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying the liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing the old residue. - Install the oil screen (D).
- Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
- Apply liquid gasket (08718-0001 or 08718-0003) evenly to the oil pan mating surface of the block and to the inner threads of the bolt holes. See Figure.
- Install the oil pan.
- Tighten the bolts in 2 or 3 steps. In the final step, tighten all bolts in sequence. See Figure and TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
NOTE:
DO NOT install the parts if 5 minutes or more have elapsed since applying the liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing the old residue.
