Radiator Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  2. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LAF)  or Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LDK or LHU) .
  3. Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LAF)  or Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LDK or LHU) .
  4. Remove transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to Fluid Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement and Fluid Cooler Outlet Hose Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the engine coolant fan harness electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the radiator support brackets. Refer to Radiator Support Bracket Replacement .
  7. Support the condenser to the core support.

Procedure

  1. Release condenser assembly retainers (Qty: 2)
  2. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud from the radiator. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement .
