Jacking & Hoisting
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 64 other vehicles, including the 1999 Pontiac Montana, 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette, 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada, 1999 GMC Yukon, and 1999 GMC Suburban. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Envoy is equipped with Automatic Level Control (ALC) on the rear suspension. When lifting vehicle on a hoist, it is important that rear axle trim height remains at normal height at all times to prevent damage to auto level control air compressor. If possible, use a hoist that supports rear tires. If a frame contact hoist must be used, support rear axle with 2 additional jack stands.
Put floor jack or vehicle hoist under vehicle at proper lifting points. See Fig 1 - Fig 7 . If raising vehicle on a twin post hoist, do not damage suspension components, rear axle cover, or steering linkage.
