Remote Verification Customization

  1. If vehicle is equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system, enter feature customization mode. See ENTER FEATURE CUSTOMIZATION MODE  . Press LOCK button on RKE transmitter. Count number of chimes in order to determine current mode (1-4). See REMOTE VERIFICATION CUSTOMIZATION MODE  table.

    Mode Exterior Lights Flash Horn Sounds
    1 Disabled Disabled
    2 Enabled Disabled
    3 Enabled (1)
    4 Enabled (2)
    (1) Horn sounds only when RKE transmitter LOCK button is pressed.
    (2) Horn sounds only when RKE transmitter LOCK button is pressed a second time within 5 seconds of first press.
  2. To change mode, press LOCK button on RKE system transmitter until desired mode is reached. Chime will sound number of times equivalent to mode. Chime indicator sequence will repeat after chime sounds for mode 4. Mode 4 is default mode.
  3. To exit and save current feature customization mode settings, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall BCM PRGRM (10-amp) fuse. If unable to change modes, diagnose RKE system fault. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
