Removal & Installation

    CAUTION: Use care not to scratch trim panels, instrument cluster bezel and top cover assembly during removal and installation.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen 2 screws at each end of defroster grille until screw head is flush with top cover surface. Do not remove screws. Using a trim stick, remove left and right "A" pillar trim panels. Lift up on bottom outer areas of cluster bezel and along the rearward edge of top cover to disengage mounting clips. Pull top cover rearward until forward pins disengage from instrument panel. Remove top cover. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove 2 RKE module screws. RKE module is located in upper, center instrument panel. See Fig 2. Slide RKE module connector locking tab sideways to unlock tab. Disconnect RKE module connector. Remove RKE module. To install, reverse removal procedure.
