Compass Failure

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Calibrate Compass/Mini-Trip Computer System (CMTC). See COMPASS CALIBRATION  under PROGRAMMING. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition off and on and wait about one minute. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC resets, replace CMTC. If DTC does not reset, no problem is indicated at this time. Perform wiggle test on all related connectors and wiring harnesses. Repair wiring as necessary and retest system.
