Antilock Brake Module: Installation

NOTE:
If the ABM module (1) is being replaced with a new ABM module it must be reprogrammed with the use of a scan tool.

- Install ABM module (1) to the ABM unit (3). See Fig 1(Refer to BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/HCU (HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT) - ASSEMBLY ).
- Install mounting screws (2). See Fig 1. Tighten to 2 N.m (16 in. lbs.).
1 - BRAKE LINES 2 - ABM UNIT 3 - MOUNTING NUTS - Install the ABM unit (2) to the vehicle. See Fig 2.
- Install the ABM mounting bracket nuts (3) and tighten to 14.1 N.m (125 in. lbs.). See Fig 2.
- Install brake lines (1) to the ABM (2) and tighten to 20 N.m (180 in. lbs.). See Fig 2.
1 - ABM MODULE 2 - ABM MODULE MOUNTING SCREWS 3 - ABM UNIT 4 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR 5 - MOUNTING BRACKET - Install the wiring harness connector (4) to the ABM and push down on the release to secure the connector. See Fig 3.
- Install negative battery cable to the battery.
- Bleed ABS brake system (Refer to BRAKES - STANDARD PROCEDURE)(Refer to BRAKES - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
