Windshield Wiper Test 2E - Wipers Not Working At All
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect wiper module connector. See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2C. Ensure jumper wire between wiper ON relay socket terminals "D" and "E" is connected.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on wiper module terminal No. 1 (Brown/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Brown/White wire between HI/LO wiper relay and wiper motor module.
- Ensure ignition is off. Ensure all lights and accessories are off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on wiper module terminal No. 4 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace wiper motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
