Windshield Wiper Test 9C - Rear Wiper Not Operating
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 9A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "A". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Ensure rear wiper switch and ignition switch are in ON position.
- Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 38 (Yellow/White wire) on connector "A". If voltage is more than 4 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is 4 volts or less, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 38 (Yellow/White wire) on connector "A". Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/White wire) on HVAC connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Yellow/White wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace HVAC module.
