Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Removal

Both sides 

  1. If equipped: Remove the engine appearance cover retainers and then remove the engine appearance cover.

    Left side 

  2. Disconnect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

  3. Release the electrical harness retainers from the ignition coil-on-plug studbolts. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

  4. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plugs.
    NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    Remove the ignition coil-on-plug retaining studbolts, then remove the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    Right side 

  5. Disconnect the quick release couplings and then remove the crankcase ventilation hose. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

  6. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH
  7. Detach the wire harness retainers from the studbolts.

  8. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
