Power Tailgate Sensor Replacement: Removal

  1. Remove the left rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA ), then the power tailgate drive unit (see DRIVE UNIT REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Separate the power tailgate drive unit 8P connector (A), and remove the three screws (B) and the power tailgate sensor (C).

  3. Record the power tailgate sensor connector terminals location and the wire harness color.
  4. Disassemble the power tailgate drive unit B (8P) (A), then remove the two terminals (B) from the connector.
    NOTE: The connector is a part of the power tailgate sensor.
