Front Toe-In Adjustment

NOTE: The vehicle must be checked prior to any adjustments being made to establish that it conforms to the Jaguar original specification, such as wheels, tires, tire pressures, etc.
  1. Start the engine and center the steering wheel. Turn the engine off, and hold the steering wheel in the straight ahead position by attaching a rigid link from the steering wheel to the brake pedal.
  2. Following the alignment equipment manufacturers instructions, check the toe settings.
  3. Loosen the tie rod end lock nuts. See Figure . Clean and lubricate the lock nut and tie rod threads.
  4. CAUTION: Do not allow the steering gear boot to twist when adjusting the tie rods. Allowing steering gear boot to twist may result in damage to the vehicle.
  5. Rotate the tie rod to adjust the toe-in setting. Adjust as necessary. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Ensuring the tie rod end lock nut does not turn, tighten lock nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Following the alignment equipment manufacturers instructions, recheck the toe settings..
