Power Door Lock Test 9A - Repairing Remote Keyless Entry

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. See KEYLESS ENTRY & POWER DOOR LOCKS article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Using voltmeter, check Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter bat-teries. If voltage is less than 3.1 volts in both batteries, replace batteries. If voltage is 3.1 volts or more in both batteries, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, select MISCELLANEOUS, then PROGRAM RKE. Follow instructions on screen. If door locks responded properly, system is okay. Using scan tool, reprogram RKE transmitter. If door locks do not respond properly, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, program a known good RKE transmitter. Exit scan tool RKE program. Try door locks using RKE transmitter. If door locks respond properly to RKE transmitter commands, replace transmitter. If door locks do not respond properly to RKE transmitter commands, replace passenger's door module.
