Power Mirror Test 6A - Heated Mirror Inoperative

NOTE: Perform POWER MIRROR TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. See MIRRORS - POWER article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Ensure rear window defogger is working properly before repairing mirror heater. If problem is with passenger's mirror only, go to step 5). If problem is with driver's mirror, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe driver's door module power mirror terminal "F". See Figure under POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 2B. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace driver's door module. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect power mirror connector from driver's door module. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, probe driver's door module power mirror terminal "B". Turn rear defogger on. If resistance is less than 30 ohms, replace power mirror. If resistance is 30 ohms or more, go to next step.
  4. Connect a test light between driver's door module power mirror terminals "B" and "F". Using scan tool, actuate left mirror heater. If test light does not flash when mirror heater is actuated, replace driver's door module. If test light flashes when mirror heater is actuated, repair rear window defogger. See the DEFOGGER - MIRROR & REAR WINDOW article.
  5. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe passenger's door module power mirror terminal "F". If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace passenger's door module. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect power mirror connector from passenger's door module. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, probe passenger's door module power mirror terminal "B". Turn rear window defogger on. If resistance is less than 30 ohms, replace power mirror. If resistance is 30 ohms or more, replace passenger's door module.
