CMTC Test 2A - CMTC Displays SC
NOTE:
Perform CMTC TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Disconnect ambient temperature sensor connector. See Fig 1 . Observe CMTC display. If CMTC displays SC, replace ambient temperature sensor. If CMTC does not display SC, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/Red wire) on ambient temperature sensor connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short in Dark Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ambient temperature sensor connector terminals. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short in Dark Green/Red wire. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, replace BCM.
