Hazard Relay Ckt Shorted Hi

  1. Remove combination flasher from junction block. See Figure. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Operate either panic feature on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter or trigger vehicle theft security system. Read BCM DTCs. If HAZARD RELAY CKT SHORTED HI DTC resets, go to next step. If HAZARD RELAY CKT SHORTED HI DTC did not reset, replace combination flasher. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and combination flasher socket terminal No. 9 (hazard switch sense circuit). If voltage is less than one volt, go to next step. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair short to voltage in Dark Blue/Pink wire between combination flasher and left multifunction switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
