Air Bag Indicator Not Operating Properly

  1. Turn ignition on. MIC self-test will start. If air bag indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If air bag indicator light does not illuminate, go to step  3.
  2. Using scan tool, read instrument cluster and air bag DTCs. If any instrument cluster or air bag DTCs are present, go to appropriate diagnostic and repair procedure under SYSTEM TESTS . Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no DTCs are present, test is complete.
  3. Remove and inspect air bag indicator light bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
