Check Gauges Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE: Check gauges indicator is activated by engine temperature, battery voltage or low oil pressure.
  1. If CHECK GAUGES indicator light is illuminated, inspect engine temperature, battery voltage or low oil pressure. Repair as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If CHECK GAUGES indicator light is not illuminated, go to next step.
  2. Cycle ignition from off to on position. If CHECK GAUGES indicator light illuminates for about 4 seconds and then goes out, test is complete. If CHECK GAUGES indicator light does not illuminate for about 4 seconds and then go out, go to next step.
  3. Remove and inspect CHECK GAUGES bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  4. Replace instrument cluster printed circuit board. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
