O/D OFF Indicator Not Operating Properly

  1. Turn ignition off. Press and hold TRIP/RESET button on instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) self-test will start. If O/D OFF indicator light illuminates for about 4 seconds and then goes out, go to next step. If O/D OFF indicator light does not illuminate for about 4 seconds and then go out, go to appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Remove and inspect O/D OFF bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  3. Replace instrument cluster printed circuit board. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
