Courtesy Lights Inoperative From Dome Light Switch Only

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read BODY DTCs. If BODY DTCs are not present, go to next step. If any BODY DTCs are present, go to appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect left multifunction switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between left multifunction switch connector terminals No. 4 (White/Dark Green wire) and 10 (Red wire). See Figure. Rotate dimmer dial on left multifunction switch while monitoring DVOM. If resistance ranges from 60 to 7900 ohms, go to next step. If resistance does not range from 60 to 7900 ohms, replace defective left multifunction switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
