Dim Sw Short To Ground
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM connector C1 terminals No. 3 (Red wire) and 16 (White/Dark Green wire). See Figure. If resistance is more than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short between Red wire and White/Dark Green wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Disconnect left multifunction switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and left multifunction switch connector terminal No. 10 (Red wire). See Figure. If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Red wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and left multifunction switch connector terminal No. 4 (White/Dark Green wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in White/Dark Green wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and left multifunction switch connector terminals No. 10 (Red wire) and 4 (White/Dark Green wire). If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, replace left multifunction switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
