Glove Box Light Inoperative

  1. Remove and inspect glove box light bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect glove box light connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and glove box light connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire). If voltage is greater than 10.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10.5 volts, repair open in Pink/Black wire between glove box light and splice S207. S207 is located in harness near breakout for radio connectors. See Fig 1. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Brown/Orange wire between glove box light connector terminal No. 2 and BCM connector C1 terminal No. 23. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Brown/Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Connect test light between glove box light connector terminals. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, replace defective glove box light switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
