EVIC Mileage & Distance Functions
- Turn ignition on. Try remaining functions on Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). If remaining functions operate properly, go to next step. If remaining functions do not operate properly, replace EVIC. See ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using scan tool, check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) DTCs. If no PCM DTCs are set, go to next step. If any PCM DTCs are set, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - GRAND CHEROKEE article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
- Possible causes of this fault code are improper fuel injector pulse rates, pinion factor (transmission control module not programmed), improper fuel fill procedures (loose gas cap) or incorrect tire sizes. If any of these problems are related to EVIC MILEAGE AND DISTANCE FUNCTIONS DTC, go to appropriate system and diagnose possible fault area. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If none of these fault areas are related to EVIC MILEAGE AND DISTANCE FUNCTIONS DTC, test is complete. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
