Liftgate Lock Fails To Lock/Unlock
- Remove liftgate inner trim panel. Disconnect liftgate lock motor connector. See Figure. Remove passenger's door inner trim panel. Ensure Passenger's Door Module (PDM) connector C1 is connected. See Figure. Connect test light between liftgate lock motor connector terminals No. 1 (Orange/Violet wire) and No. 2 (Pink/Violet wire). Using scan tool, actuate PAS LOCK RELAY, then PAS UNLOCK RELAY while monitoring test light. If test light does not illuminate during each actuation, go to next step. If test light illuminates during each actuation, replace liftgate lock motor. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PDM connector C1. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Orange/Violet wire between liftgate lock motor connector terminal No. 1 and PDM connector C1 terminal No. 5. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Orange/Violet wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance of Pink/Violet wire between liftgate lock motor connector terminal No. 2 and PDM connector C1 terminal No. 7. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Pink/Violet wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
