Toe-In Adjustment

NOTE: If vehicle is equipped with power steering, engine must be running during entire toe adjustment procedure.
  1. If vehicle is equipped with power steering, start engine. Center front wheels straight ahead. Measure toe and compare to specification. See ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Center steering wheel by counting turns required to hit left and right steering stops. Center steering wheel midway between stops. Loosen drag link adjustment sleeve clamp bolts. See Fig 1.
  3. Rotate adjustment sleeve to adjust right wheel toe to specification. See ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS . Position clamp bolts so threaded bolt ends face as shown. See Fig 1. Tighten drag link adjustment sleeve clamp bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Loosen tie rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolts at each end of tie rod. See Fig 1. Rotate tie rod adjustment sleeve to adjust left wheel to toe specification. See ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS . When adjustment is complete, position sleeve as described earlier, and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
