Powertrain Control Module (Pcm)

REMOVAL

- Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Remove the PCM retaining fastener.
- Remove the PCM from the mounting bracket.
INSTALLATION
- Position the PCM into the mounting bracket.
- Check the pin connectors in the PCM. Also check the wire harness connectors for corrosion or damage. Repair as necessary.
- Install the PCM bolts and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Carefully install the wire harness connectors into the PCM.NOTE:
If the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage is not programed into the PCM, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.
- If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to program the new PCM. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
