Sensor, Exhaust Temperature: Installation

  1. Position the exhaust gas sensors with the module to the vehicle.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Install the upstream exhaust gas temperature sensor (1) in the catalytic converter and tighten the connector to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the downstream exhaust gas temperature sensor (2) in the catalytic converter and tighten the connector to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .

  6. Position the wire harness (1) in the wire harness retainers (2) and close the retainers.

  7. Install the exhaust temperature sensor module (1) and tighten the two nuts (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Attach the two wire harness retainers (1, 2).
  9. Connect the exhaust gas temperature sensor wire harness connector (3).

  10. Install the radiator closeout panel (2) and the 10 push pin fasteners (1).
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
