Test A: No Communication With Front Electronic Module
NOTE:
Cycle ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position to enable switched system power feature.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Front Electronic Module (FEM) 12-pin harness connectors C201c. Disconnect FEM 20-pin harness connector C201f. FEM is located behind driver's side kick panel. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and FEM harness connector C201c terminal No. 6 (Orange/Green wire). Measure voltage between ground and FEM harness connector C201f terminal No. 1 (Orange/Yellow wire). See Fig 2 . If voltage is 10 volts or more at both terminals, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts at either terminal, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Clear DTCs. Retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect FEM 17-pin harness connector C201a. Measure resistance between appropriate FEM harness connector terminals and ground. See FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
table. If all resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article. If any resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate wire between FEM and ground. See GROUND DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
