LHD AWD/LHD RWD
- Inspect the turbocharger or engine air intake system components and clean, if necessary.
- With the aid of an assistant and using the floor crane and chain, install the engine on the subframe.
- Install and adjust and tighten the adjustable mounting arm bolts. Use the General Equipment: Adjustable Mounting Arm
- Remove the floor crane and chain.
- Remove the spreader bar and quick links. Remove Special Service Tool: 303-1246 Engine Spreader Bar.
- Remove Special Service Tool: 303-1634 Lift Eyes (2).
- Remove Special Service Tool: 303-1634 Lift Eyes (2).

- If removed, install new TC mounting studs.
Torque: 102 lb. in (11. 5 Nm)
- Install a new TC gasket.
- If removed, install new TC mounting studs.
- Install a new TC oil return tube-to-engine block gasket.

- Install new TC oil supply tube O-ring seals and a new TC oil supply tube oil filter. Lubricate the new TC oil supply tube O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Install a new TC coolant supply tube O-ring seal. Lubricate the new TC coolant supply tube O-ring seal with clean engine coolant.

NOTE: Install the coolant supply tube and the oil supply tube to the engine block while installing the TC.
Install the TC and loosely install the new fasteners.
- Tighten the fasteners in sequence.
Torque: Fastener 1: 44 lb. ft (60 Nm) Fastener 2: 44 lb. ft (60 Nm) Fastener 3: 27 lb. ft (37 Nm) Re-tighten fastener 1: 44 lb. ft (60 Nm) Re-tighten fastener 2: 44 lb. ft (60 Nm) Re-tighten fastener 3: 27 lb. ft (37 Nm)

- Install the TC oil supply tube bolt.
Torque: 18 lb. ft (24 Nm)
- Connect the vacuum hose and clamp.
- Install the TC oil supply tube bolt.

- Install the TC coolant supply tube bolt.
Torque: 89 lb. in (10 Nm)
- Connect the TC coolant return hose and clamp.
- Install the TC coolant supply tube bolt.
- Install the heat shield and the bolts.
Torque: 89 lb. in (10 Nm)
- Install the TC oil return tube fasteners.
Torque: 89 lb. in (10 Nm)
- Install the bracket and the bolt.
Torque: 106 lb. in (12 Nm)

If equipped, connect the vacuum tube(s).

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.NOTE: Make sure that the O-ring is seated correctly.
Install a new front axle pinion stem O-ring.

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.
Install the new front axle pinion stem circlip.

NOTE: Do not over-lubricate the driveshaft components. Using excessive grease may damage the driveshaft components.NOTE: Wipe off any excess grease.
Lubricate the front drive axle splines with grease.
Material: Motorcraft® Premium Long-Life Grease / XG-1-E1 (ESA-M1C75-B)
- Install the front drive shaft.
- Install the heat shield and the fasteners.
Torque: 89 lb. in (10 Nm)
LHD AWD/LHD RWD

- If removed, install new studs.
Torque: 18 lb. ft (25 Nm)
- Install the new gasket.
- If removed, install new studs.

NOTE: AWD shown, RWD similar.
Install the RH catalytic converter and the new nuts.
Torque: 35 lb. ft (48 Nm)
- With the aid of an assistant and using the powertrain jack, raise the powertrain and subframe as an assembly 25. 4 mm (1 in) from the frame.

- With the aid of an assistant and using the powertrain jack, position the powertrain and subframe forwards 50. 8 mm (2 in).
- With the aid of an assistant and using the powertrain jack, raise the powertrain and subframe 25. 4 mm (1 in).

NOTE: The original bolts will be installed at this point to support the subframe, new bolts will be installed after the LH catalytic converter is installed.
Install the original rear subframe bolts.
- Install the new front subframe bolts finger tight.
-
NOTE: The original bolts will be installed at this point to support the subframe, new bolts will be installed after the LH catalytic converter is installed.
Install the original middle subframe bolts.
- Tighten the front subframe bolts.
Torque: 195 lb. ft (265 Nm)
- Install the front radiator support bar bolts.
Torque: 46 lb. ft (63 Nm)
- Remove. Use the General Equipment: Adjustable Mounting Arm
- Remove the powertrain jack and wooden blocks Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block

NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts or damage to the engine mount can occur.
Install the new RH engine mount nut.
Torque: 184 lb. ft (250 Nm)

- Connect the HO2S and catalyst monitor sensor electrical connectors.
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.

Attach the HO2S wiring harness retainers to the LH subframe.
- Install the vent hose(s) and attach the retainer.
- Install the following items:
- Refer to: Transmission - 3. 0L EcoBoost .
- RH side. Refer to: Exhaust Flexible Pipe .
LHD AWD
- Install the RH and LH halfshafts. Refer to: Halfshaft

LHD RWD

NOTE: On both sides.
- Install the lower arm onto the knuckle.
-
NOTE: Do not use power tools to remove or install the lower arm outboard nut. Damage to the ball joint or ball joint seal may occur.NOTE: Use the TORX PLUS® holding feature to prevent the ball stud from turning while removing or installing the lower arm outboard nut. Torx® and TORX PLUS® is a reg. tm of Acument Intellectual Properties, LLC.
Install the new nut.
Torque: 136 lb. ft (185 Nm)
- Install the nut and bolt.
Torque: 210 lb. ft (285 Nm)

NOTE: Do not use power tools to remove or install the lower arm outboard nut. Damage to the ball joint or ball joint seal may occur.NOTE: Use the TORX PLUS® holding feature to prevent the ball stud from turning while removing or installing the lower arm outboard nut. - Install the front lower arm into the knuckle.
- Install the new nut.
Torque: 66 lb. ft (90 Nm)

- Install the retainer bracket and the bolt.
Torque: 106 lb. in (12 Nm)
- Install the front wheel speed sensor and bolt.
Torque: 159 lb. in (18 Nm)
- Install the retainer bracket and the bolt.

- Install the tie rod end into the wheel knuckle.
- Install the new nut.
Torque: 52 lb. ft (70 Nm)
LHD AWD/LHD RWD

NOTE: Use the internal or external hex-holding feature to prevent the ball and stud from turning while removing or installing the stabilizer bar link nuts. The link boot seal must not be allowed to twist while tightening the link nuts or damage to the boot seal will occur.NOTE: On both sides.
Position the sway bar link and install the new nut.
Torque: 129 lb. ft (175 Nm)

- If equipped, connect the RH transfer case vent hose.
- Connect the steering gear wiring harness electrical connectors and attach the wiring harness retainers.
- If equipped, attach the wiring harness retainer.
- If equipped, connect the wiring harness electrical connector to the RH transfer case.
- Install the splash shield pin-type retainer to the RH subframe.
- Install the steering shield and the pin-type retainers to the RH subframe.
- Install the steering shield pin-type retainers to the RH subframe.
- If equipped, attach the air suspension tube retainers.
- Inspect the O-ring seals and install new O-ring seals if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals before installing the transmission fluid cooler.

NOTE: Make sure the oil cooler is completely installed against the transmission before tightening, or damage to the cooler could result.
Install the transmission fluid cooler and loosely install the bolt and the nuts by hand.

Tighten the bolt and nuts in the sequence shown.
Torque: 18 lb. ft (25 Nm)
- Position the bracket and install the bolt.
Torque: 71 lb. in (8 Nm)
- Connect the coolant hoses and tighten the clamps.
Torque: 33 lb. in (3. 7 Nm)

NOTE: If equipped with AWD.
- Connect the vent hose.
- Connect the wiring harness electrical connector.
- Position the splash shield and install the pin-type retainer to the LH subframe.
- Install the steering shield and the pin-type retainers to the LH subframe.

- Connect the A/C wiring harness electrical connectors.
- Attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Install a new O-ring seal.
- Connect the A/C lines to A/C compressor and install the nuts.
Torque: 159 lb. in (18 Nm)
- If equipped, install the front suspension height sensors. Refer to: Front Suspension Height Sensor .

- Connect the fuel supply tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Connect the EVAP supply tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.
- Position the wiring harness and install the bolt.
Torque: 97 lb. in (11 Nm)
- Install the ground cable and the bolt.
Torque: 106 lb. in (12 Nm)

- Position the high-pressure fuel pump shield.
- Connect the high-pressure fuel pump fuel feed spring lock coupling. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump shield, the nuts and the bolt.
Torque: 18 lb. ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: When removing or installing the fuel injection pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.
- Install the fuel injection pump noise insulator.
- Attach the coolant hose retainers.
- Connect the coolant hoses.
-
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 106 lb. in (12 Nm)
- Attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Install the bolt.
-
- Install the intake manifold bracket and the bolts.
Torque: 97 lb. in (11 Nm)
- Position the heater hose brackets and install the bolts.
Torque: 97 lb. in (11 Nm)
- Connect the heater hose and clamp.
- Install the intake manifold bracket and the bolts.
-
- Connect the center PCM electrical connector and attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Connect the engine harness electrical connector, and attach the retainer.
- Install the new steering shaft bolt.
Torque: 22 lb. ft (30 Nm)

- Attach the wiring harness retainer.
- If equipped, connect the block heater electrical connector.
- Install the generator. Refer to: Generator - 3. 0L EcoBoost .

- Position the ground cable and install the bolt.
Torque: 106 lb. in (12 Nm)
- Attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Position the ground cable and install the bolt.
- Connect the oil cooler hoses and the clamps.
-
- Connect the coolant hose quick release coupling.
- Connect the coolant hose and the clamp.
-
- Connect the upper radiator hose and the clamp.
- Connect the lower radiator hose and the clamp.
Torque: 48 lb. in (5. 4 Nm)
-
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe and the clamp.
Torque: 42 lb. in (4. 8 Nm)
- Install the CAC inlet pipe and the clamps.
Torque: 42 lb. in (4. 8 Nm)
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe and the clamp.
-
- Install the air cleaner inlet pipe.
- Verify the raised area of the pipe is fully engaged.
- Install the coolant hose and the clamp.
- If equipped, connect the vacuum tube quick release coupling.
-
- If equipped, connect the vacuum tubes.
- If equipped, attach the retainer.
- Install the following items:
- LH side. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
- Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe .
- Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Refer to: Degas Bottle .
- Refer to: Cowl Panel .
- Install a new oil filter and fill the engine with clean engine oil. Refer to: Engine Oil Draining and Filling .
- Install the suspension support bar and the bolts.
Torque: 22 lb. ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the radiator support cable ties or mechanics wire.
- Install the upper radiator panel and the retainers.
- Install the RH engine compartment cover and the retainers.
- Install the LH engine compartment cover and the retainers.
- Remove the holding device.
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Pressurize the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Check the front transfer case fluid level. Refer to: Transfer Case Fluid Level Check .
- Check the transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
- Charge the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R1234YF Refrigerant .
- Start and check the exhaust system for leaks.
- Use the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Misfire Monitor Profile Correction routine in the diagnostic scan tool.
