Anti-Lock Brake System: Description

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control unit senses reductions in rear wheel speed and modulates hydraulic pressure to the brakes to prevent rear wheel lock-up. The anti-lock brake system consists of ABS control unit, hydraulic unit, speed sensor, sensor rotor, pressure differential switch and a check connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . MPV is also equipped with an ABS relay. On all models, an ABS warning light is located on the instrument panel.

NOTE: For more information on brake system, see BRAKE SYSTEM article in the BRAKES Section.
