A/C Compressor Removal/Installation: Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Discharge the refrigerant from the system. See REFRIGERANT CHARGING .
Remove the right side splash shield and mudguard.
Remove the WU-TWC (AJ-VE only). See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ] .
Loosen the drive belt and remove it.
CAUTION:
- If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.
Remove in the order indicated in the table. Do not allow compressor oil to spill.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust the drive belt.
Perform the refrigerant system performance test. See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST .
