Climate Control Unit Inspection (Manual A/C): Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Front scuff plate (driver's side) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front side trim (driver's side) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Fuel-filler lid opener and lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Center console tray (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Shift bezel (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Select lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  3. Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (MANUAL A/C) .)
  4. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  5. Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to the body ground.
  6. By inserting the positive (+) lead of the tester into the climate control unit connector, measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage figure.
    • If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under "Inspection item (s)".
