Climate Control Unit Inspection (Manual A/C): Notes

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
- Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- CD player (with CD player) (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (MANUAL A/C) .)
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to the body ground.
- By inserting the positive (+) lead of the tester into the climate control unit connector, measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage table.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under "Inspection item (s)".
- If the parts under "Inspection item (s)" are found to be normal (except for terminal G), replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (MANUAL A/C) .)
- For terminal G, first try replacing the blower fan controller. (See BLOWER FAN CONTROLLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) If there is still malfunction, replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (MANUAL A/C) .)
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under "Inspection item (s)".
