Procedure Using M-MDS

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Mazda CX-30. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  2. Release the electric parking brake.
  3. Remove the cap from the brake fluid reserved tank and add brake fluid.
  4. Connect the M-MDS.
  5. Select the following item from the screen of the M-MDS. (See BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT NOTE .)
    1. Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
    2. Press the [Toolbox] tab.
    3. Press the [Work Support] icon.
    4. Press the [BRAKES] icon.
    5. Press [Run] for Replacing Brake Fluid.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not empty the inside of the brake fluid reserve tank when performing brake fluid replacement. Always verify that the brake fluid is not empty while performing the procedure. Otherwise, it would be necessary to perform air bleeding of the brake fluid reserve tank.
  6. Perform brake fluid replacement in the following order. (See BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT NOTE .)
    1. Front part on driver's side
    2. Front part on passenger's side
    3. Stroke simulator (Perform the following procedure 10 times)
      1. Slowly depress the brake pedal.
      2. Maintain this condition for 3 s or more.
      3. Quickly release the brake pedal.
      4. Maintain this condition for 3 s or more.
    4. Front part on driver's side
    5. Front part on passenger's side
    6. Rear part on driver's side
    7. Rear part on passenger's side
  7. Refill the brake fluid reserve tank fluid level to MAX.
  8. After air bleeding, inspect the following:
    • Brake operation
    • Fluid leakage
    • Fluid level
